Project Name: Morning’s Lion Gun
Materials Used: Foamboard, Bristol Board, Vellum Board, Glue, Scissors, Cutter
This project was a pair activity for our Materials Class in 2012. I worked with my partner, Ms. Reinna Calo, to create a conceptual gun using only the given materials. Inspired by the strength and power of a lion, we used bold shapes and layers to bring our idea to life. This project pushed us to be creative and make something eye-catching with basic materials.
Project Name: Crazy Hats
Materials Used: Rubber Foam, Grecco 888, Paint (Latex)
Before our Christmas break in December 2012, our university had its annual Lantern Parade. For our Materials class, our professor challenged us to create a crazy hat inspired by different people in society to wear for the event.
Fun fact: This project sparked my love for cosplay! Working with these materials opened my eyes to endless creative possibilities and set me on a whole new creative journey.
Project Name: Koi Rattan (Botchokoi)
Materials Used: Rattan Sticks (Thick and Thin), Rattan Peel, Grecco 888
For this project in our Materials II class, my partner Dawn Dela Torre and I had the challenge of creating a
5-foot fish sculpture out of rattan. We spent the whole second semester of 2013 bringing this vision to life, learning how to work with rattan in the process.
Our work was showcased at the Ayala Center Cebu in June 2013, which was an exciting milestone for us. This project was a great way to dive into a new material, push our creativity, and see it all come together!
Project Name: Ukulele Coaster Sample
Materials Used: Corkboard, Resin, Hardener, Adobe Illustrator (for design)
In our Intermediate Product Design class, we worked on a project to improve Cebu's tourism, partnering with Sir Jay Aldeguer, CEO of Island Souvenirs. I was in charge of the souvenir items team, and this coaster design was my contribution.
Inspired by Lapu-Lapu's popular ukuleles and guitars, this coaster was designed to reflect Cebu’s culture in a simple and meaningful way. It was a great chance to blend creativity with local tradition!
Project Name: Pieces Hanging Rattan Lamp
Materials Used: Wood Veneer, Grecco 888
For this project, the goal was to create a pendant lamp using wood veneer. It was a simple yet exciting challenge to design a functional piece that also showcased the natural beauty of the material.
Project Name: Sketch A Day Plates
Materials Used: Vellum Board, Technical Pens, Zig Kurecolor, Prisma Colored Pencils, Chalk
These hand-drawn plates were part of a daily exercise to improve our drawing skills. They helped me refine my technique and creativity through consistent practice.
Project Name: Photography Final Plates
In our photography class, we had to capture images that tell a story. I focused on hope and love through gestures. Some shots were taken in various street spots around Cebu for extra inspiration.
